On the Origin of Bonsai

Miniature trees are rooted in the mountains of China, where a single species specific plants and trees. Because of its harsh weather conditions, trees are stunted and twisted. The mountain winds also left these trees twisted in ice and cold. Essentially, it is nature that was the inspiration for the art of potting trees as art students do their best to mimic what nature has created.
