Bonsai pruning explained

Much of the pruning is often necessary if you start with a plant nursery. Only the excess leaves and unwanted branches should be removed. Make all cuts above a bud, a lateral branch or main fork of the tree. Remove all buttons except those outside the main force growth outward and upward. Leave stems flush heels. Avoid cutting back so far that the main branches are weakened.

Do not mow bonsai like a hedge the goal is to make the plants look like a replica of a mature tree. Keep the branches growing toward the open space and away from each other. Do not prune too much zeal, the plants must have enough leaves for photosynthesis.

Avoid pruning usually occurs only once in the life of the bonsai. Once the basic form is established, the format is done by clamping or crushing. This process of growth control. Killing is done to shape the plant leaves and develop luxury. Pinch small spurs that occur on the trunk before they are big enough to leave scars when removed.

The roots should be pruned. Try keep all the fibrous roots and maintain a balance from one branch to the root if possible. Remove roots that were damaged during the excavation. That the roots of surface intact. Trim roots with steep cuts to avoid damage.

Pruning is necessary to maintain good shape a bonsai and encourage new growth. Some plants naturally respond well to pruning, regardless of intensity, while other plants may have difficulty recovering, especially when pruning in the wrong time of year.

To prune properly, you must know the type of plant your bonsai is and research when the best time to prune growth of old and new season. In general, new growth is pruned during the growing season to maintain the shape of bonsai, while pruning of hard wood (growth season of age) is mid-fall.

One of the leading forms of bonsai, especially evergreen coniferous bonsai such as junipers and cedars is 'finger pruning'. This involves the picking of new growth that does not correspond to the general shape of the bonsai or bonsai top - helping to promote foliage and fitter looking bonsai tree.

To do this, take the growth between your thumb and forefinger, while holding the branch with the other hand and remove with a twisting motion. It is best to cut with scissors for growth. Help scissors leaves a natural appearance and leaves the foliage an unsightly brown.

For Deciduous trees such as elm maple, Chinese and cotoneaster, scissor tip pruning is best. When you cut or "too enthusiastic" growth, cut shoots back with the next set of leaves, but not cut the foliage.

sheet size (also known under the name of defoliation) in the bonsai plants used for several deciduous and tropical asficus maples to reduce leaf size, remove unsightly leaves and accelerate growth, causing a growth in two seasons one. For deciduous trees such as maples it also means that your country is brighter fall. This is done in mid-summer, by reducing 60-90% of the leaves of the tree, leaving only a few to ensure that the tree keeps its energy.

Remove leaves with fine scissors, cut directly behind the blade. In the coming weeks, be sure to keep the plant in terms of hospital and climate and adequate water supply. Remember, however, that this form pruning is only applicable to certain types of plants.

Scaffold branches are selected from the beginning that the branches must be allowed to flourish, while the excess branches are pruned mercilessly.

Make sure you really need to go to branches to stay if the plant can remain to be balanced and pleasing to the view. Try to prune the plant into a tree shape - or form that is commonly found in nature - respect the principles of bonsai.

Pruning is the means by which maintains a miniature bonsai. This involves the systematic elimination of a vigorous growth in spring. However, it is important to understand that for tree health not remove all new growth in a given time. The roots are cut like the foliage of the plant.

It is not necessary to prune the bonsai every day as many think. Two or three times a year is enough - usually in early spring, late summer and sometimes in late fall or winter.

When the plant was reduced to your satisfaction, then it may be by cable .
